Minting USST on Stellar

The STBL DApp allows users to mint USST across supported blockchain networks. USST is now available on Stellar.

Before starting, ensure you have:

  • A supported Stellar wallet (e.g. LOBSTR, Freighter, or xBull)
  • A small amount of XLM to cover network fees and trustline requirements
  • Sufficient USDY for the amount you intend to mint

To begin, visit the STBL DApp and select Stellar from the network selector in the top-right corner of the navigation bar.

When you mint USST on Stellar, your USDY is deposited as collateral, USST is issued to your Stellar wallet, and a corresponding YLD position is automatically created. Your YLD position tracks the yield generated by your deposited USDY and can be viewed from the Portfolio section of the STBL DApp.

Step 1: Obtain USDY on Stellar

USDY is the underlying asset required to mint USST. Your Stellar wallet must hold sufficient USDY before you begin. If you do not already hold USDY on Stellar, use one of the following methods.

Option 1: Acquire USDY through Ondo Finance

If you are an eligible user, acquire USDY directly through Ondo Finance.

  1. Visit https://ondo.finance/usdy.
  2. Complete the required onboarding and eligibility process.
  3. Receive USDY in your Stellar wallet.
  4. Return to the STBL DApp to begin minting.

Option 2: Swap for USDY on Stellar

If you hold XLM, USDC, or another supported asset on Stellar, swap it for USDY using a Stellar DEX such as Aquarius or SushiSwap.

  1. Connect your Stellar wallet to the DEX.
  2. Select the asset you wish to swap (e.g. XLM or USDC).
  3. Select USDY as the asset to receive.
  4. Review the quoted exchange rate and fees.
  5. Confirm the swap.

Once complete, USDY will be available in your Stellar wallet.

Option 3: Bridge USDC to Stellar

If your USDC is on another blockchain, bridge it to Stellar first.

  1. Use Allbridge to transfer USDC to Stellar.
  2. After the bridged USDC arrives, use Aquarius or SushiSwap to swap it for USDY.

Before You Continue

Ensure that:

  • Your Stellar wallet contains sufficient USDY for the amount you intend to mint.
  • Your wallet holds a small amount of XLM to cover transaction fees, minimum reserve requirements, and any required trustlines.

Step 2: Connect Wallet & Mint USST

  1. Visit the STBL DApp and select Stellar from the network selector in the top-right corner.
  2. Connect your supported Stellar wallet and ensure it is funded with USDY and a small amount of XLM.
  3. Enter the amount of USDY you wish to deposit and review the transaction details, including the applicable haircut, fees, yield frequency, and the amount of USST to be minted.
  4. Click Mint and approve the transaction in your wallet.

Once your USDY deposit is verified, USST is issued to your Stellar wallet and a corresponding YLD position is created automatically. You can monitor your USST balance, YLD position, accrued yield, and redemption status from the Portfolio section of the STBL DApp.

Step 3: Manage Your Position

From the Portfolio section, you can:

  • View your USST balance
  • Track your YLD position and accrued yield
  • View your position's maturity details

Once your position reaches maturity, initiate a redemption directly from Portfolio. Review the redemption details, confirm the transaction in your wallet, and your principal and any applicable accrued yield (less applicable fees and adjustments) will be returned to your wallet in accordance with the product terms.

Wallet Support for USST & YLD

USST and YLD are Soroban-based assets on Stellar. They require a wallet that supports Soroban smart contract tokens and NFTs (e.g. Freighter).

USST Token (Soroban Contract Token)

USST is a Soroban contract token — not a Classic Stellar asset. No trustline is required.

Contract Address:

CBZ4DCE7PYMUTOAKKUTRSUPT3FJFVOWCSKWUM5A72D6SAVMUJE5JN2PJ

How to view USST (if it does not appear automatically):

  1. Open a Soroban-compatible wallet (e.g. Freighter).
  2. Go to Tokens / Assets.
  3. Select Add Token / Import Asset.
  4. Paste the USST contract address.
  5. Confirm and save.

YLD NFT (Soroban Collectibles)

YLD is a Soroban NFT contract. No trustline is required.

Contract Address:

CA7AG25C72ZNHBKYJEGZ4GDZJO3A5OH4CT7ICBN6SE3HS43W4E4S4AGO

How to view YLD NFTs:

  1. Open a Soroban-compatible wallet (e.g. Freighter).
  2. Go to Collectibles / NFTs.
  3. Select Add manually / Import NFT.
  4. Enter the contract address above and your NFT ID (provided by the STBL DApp minting dashboard).
  5. Save.

Each NFT is uniquely identified by its NFT ID; the contract address is the same for all YLD NFTs.

Yield

When you mint USST by depositing USDY on Stellar, a YLD position is automatically created. This position tracks the yield associated with your deposited USDY and can be monitored from the Portfolio section.

Does USDY on Stellar earn yield?

Yes. Your deposited USDY generates yield, tracked through your YLD position. No manual claiming is required — yield accrues automatically in accordance with the applicable product terms.

How is yield distributed?

Yield is distributed through the reward distributor configured for the USDY Stellar contract. The current yield period is 30 days, during which yield is calculated and allocated based on the configured product cycle. The amount you receive depends on your YLD position and is subject to the applicable fees, haircut, and product terms displayed before you confirm your mint.

Does USDY on Stellar have a maturity date?

Yes. USDY follows a 30-day Principal Token (PT) structure with a defined maturity date. Your position's maturity date and accrued yield can be viewed from the Portfolio section.

What happens at maturity?

Your position becomes eligible for redemption. Initiate a redemption from Portfolio — your principal and any applicable accrued yield, less fees and adjustments, will be returned to your wallet in accordance with the product terms.

Are there any fees?

Yes. The STBL Mint Portal applies deposit, withdrawal, insurance, and yield fees, as well as any applicable haircut, per the product terms. All fees and adjustments are calculated automatically and displayed before you confirm your transaction.

Troubleshooting

My wallet isn't connecting or my transaction is failing.

Disconnect your wallet, reconnect it, perform a hard refresh Ctrl + Shift + R or Cmd + Shift + R, and try again. This establishes a fresh wallet session and resolves most temporary connection or signing issues.

How long does minting take?

After your USDY deposit is received and verified, USST is typically issued within a few minutes.

How can I view my transaction?

View your USST balance and transaction history in your Stellar wallet, through Stellar Expert, or from the Portfolio section of the STBL DApp.

Which wallets are supported?

The STBL DApp supports Stellar-compatible wallets that can hold Soroban assets, including LOBSTR, Freighter, xBull, and other compatible Stellar wallets.
